‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt able to post publicly about his personal sorrow.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can at last articulate my loss into words," shared Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "Once we started sharing more moments together I realized this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor posted behind-the-scenes footage from the movie, commenting that he could not remember "any day without mirth".

"The film is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob cherished deeply. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, saying: "Asserting that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist

In a separate tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked seamlessly with everyone, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed

In a new development, a Los Angeles judge agreed to block the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, after an appeal from the LAPD.

A court order placed a security hold on the investigation to restrict the public release of "related notes, notes, reports or photos" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of foul play, with a record listing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Following the deaths, public individuals shared different responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making divisive remarks that were met with immediate backlash by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the detractors recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan characterized the comments as "disturbing" and implied they demonstrated a concerning absence of compassion.

Rogan finished by proposing that an associate should have acted when the choice to speak on the tragedy was made.
