The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series from Critical Role, unveiled an exciting introductory sequence. It features our favorite cast of misfits, misfits, and rogues fighting hard and taking names, while also hinting at several heart-wrenching personal histories for key figures including Liam O'Brien's mage Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, Fjord.

Overall, the intro looks stunning. However, I felt that an element was missing in the song choice.

This sequence uses "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional song composed by artist Colm McGuinness. It's a track originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second release released by the production company's record label their music brand. It's a wonderful sentimental option, and I suspect that devotees of the sequel series will appreciate its inclusion.

But for me, The series' intro doesn't quite capture the hype and excitement that accompanied the second campaign's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician the artist, became an immediate hit for me when it was initially unveiled in 2015, and it only got better when cast member the performer added lyrics to the tune for the animated Campaign 2 opening in the later year.

Including singing from one actress, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the song was memorable and enjoyable. At the time, I hadn't even watched the follow-up series yet, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my phone. This track that excites you before you dive into an episode of fantasy hijinks.

The Mighty Nein's intro with "the new song" doesn't strike the right notes for me. It's a grand piece of music, but based on my understanding of this party, I feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, the creators has stated that the animated show will have a few changes and differences from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its opening seems to be one of them.

The Mighty Nein will be released on the streaming service from Nov. 19. For those eager until then, or wish to prepare to get to know the personas of the second series, the original episodes are accessible on the audio platform and the video site.
