Barça to Host First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans are permitted inside as per the current authorization. After final construction, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a public practice inside the stadium earlier this month. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
