Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.

Remembering the Victims

The victims of the crash were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans shared condolences for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
